Continuity 2010

On the heels of posting the cover for COLD CASE MURDER, I've been asked to write book four in the 2010 continuity. All the stories will deal with witness protection. So far, I know that my heroine is pregnant and in witness protection. I also know that her ex-husband is trying to find her and that just as he finds her so does the villian.

Sound intriguing?

It did to me. Plus, I really love writing stories about couples who reunite.

I can't wait to get started!

So when you write a continuity they give you the bones of the story? That could make it easier or harder depending...

Sounds very intriguing. So is the ex-husband a good guy or bad guy? =) I the book.

I can tell you, because I'm sure it will be in the back cover blurb. The ex-husband is a good guy. I'm interested to see why the two divorced. And, yes, I'm given the synopsis of the story and write from that. The hardest part of working on a continuity is making sure that my story matches with the others. Each author is given a bible with the details of all the stories in it. However, those details may change as authors write their books and put their own unique twist on the plot. It's really a very fun experience. This will be my fourth continuity, and I still enjoy writing them.

How interesting. I had no idea. Do you ever get nervous working with others. Not knowing what everybody expects of each other?

Do you exchange work with the other writers at all? Or email when you think of something that might effect the other stories?

On another note. I'm going over my book and implementing deep POV everywhere I can. I remember when you mentioned it to me over a year ago I had no idea what you were talking about. I'm finally getting it. Such a nice feeling when things start to click. :)

That's awesome, Sabrina. I'm so glad you're writing diligently. Creating good writing habits is the only way to be successful at what we do. As for deep POV, I think that's the key to any great story.
