I have had a few people ask me to read their stuff for one of the lines I read and then when I gave them my opinion they got irritated.

I always try to be kind and find the good in whatever I'm reading, but I'm honest too. If you have four or five POV's and I know the LI lines don't want that. Or you head hop all over the place or there are too many sublots floating around, etc...I'm going to say something.

I have a lot of hang ups as a writer that I still need to work on, but one thing I try really hard at is being teachable and listening to those that know more than I do.

On the flip side of this conversation would be the writers that listen to everyone and allow their work to no longer be their own. :0/ That's a problem too. I had to learn that when I was in a crit group a few years ago.

All that to say you are truly gifted as a writer and what a kind and giving heart you have for teaching new writers. I for one appreciate you!!! :)

p.s. I still sometimes go through the edits you gave me a few years ago for my first book. Just to see what you picked up and if I've improved. :0)Sabrina L.
